Red Ribbon Week
Stony Mill Elementary celebrated Red Ribbon Week from October 24-October 31, 2022. This year’s theme was “Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free.” Students showed their support of living a drug free life by participating in Spirit Days and taking the drug free pledge. Our Spirit Days included: Proud to Be Drug Free, Peace Out to Drugs, Team Up Against Drugs, My Future is Too Bright, Our School Chooses to be Drug Free, and Say “Boo” to Drugs. Homeroom teachers participated in a door decorating contest. Congratulations to Mrs. Kimberly Watson for the winning door! Students were encouraged to follow their dreams and achieve their goals.
Eden Baynes, Ryder Scott, Sarah Grace Odell, and Mason Groom are proud to be drug free! They wore red to kick off Red Ribbon Week.
Saige Scearce, McKayla Bookheimer, and David Mulero sported their tie-dye to say “Peace out to drugs!”
Jei Clayton, Maggie Dodd, and Carter Travis “team up against drugs” by wearing their sports team apparel.
Ms. Amy Lovern, Nevaeh Townsley, Luis Espinoza, and Kyzeah Noble wore neon colors to say that their future is too bright for drugs!
Johanna Weaver, Cade Shively, and Mrs. Kimberly Watson showed off their SME school attire to say “our school chooses to be drug free.” Mrs. Watson was also the winner of our door contest. She received a $25 gift certificate donated by Danville Pittsylvania County Community Services to spend in her classroom.
