Kid's Challenge
February was “Kids Heart Challenge” month at Stony Mill Elementary School! Students in every grade, PK-5, worked hard to collect donations from family and friends for the American Heart Association. This year, students collected $10,250.25. Leading the way was 3rd grade student Noah Touchstone who raised $355. All proceeds from the event are used to help children and adults who do not have healthy hearts. Students celebrated with Jump Rope for Heart events on February 20-22. Coach Katherine Blair, coordinator of the events, said, “I am so proud of all of our Heart Heroes at Stony Mill. They did a great job, and they are learning the importance of compassion for others and ways to take care of their own hearts.”
