2026 BETA National Convention

Stony Mill Elementary School had 24 students attend the National Jr. Beta Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. The students worked hard and represented the school well while competing in 12 different events.

Students competed in Black and White Photography, Recyclable Art, Quilling, Scrapbook, Service Learning Board, Instrumental Solo, Speech, Engineering, Robotics, Living Literature, Large Group Performing Arts, and Songfest.

The Living Literature team earned 10th place for its artistic interpretation of a scene from the book *Because of Winn-Dixie*. The team was led by Austin Braund and Kelly McKinney. Students participating in Living Literature were Julian Braund, Bryce Hyler, Scarlet Keatts, Eli Lambert, Araya McKinney, Jacob Meadows, and Weston Routh.

We are incredibly proud of our students for the way they represented Stony Mill Elementary School and Pittsylvania County Schools.
